GETTING A COPY OF A DIVORCE DECREEGETTING A COPY OF A DIVORCE DECREE

Family »Posted 15 Feb 2019

legal question Got divorced in 1993 and remarried in 1994. My ex-husband also remarried in 1995. I have been married to my current husband for almost 25 years and neither myself nor my ex-husband have a copy of the divorce decree and not having much luck with getting a copy of it from the archives in King Williamstown.
My current husband is a British citizen and we are looking at retiring to the UK but in order for me to apply for a spouse visa, I need to provide a copy of my divorce decree.
I there any other way, i.e. declaring the previous marriage null and void, or
drawing up an affidavit which will be signed by both myself and my ex-husband stating that we got divorced in 1993 and have since remarried?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
